Baltimore, like Philadelphia, has a street litter, water way trash problem. They are taking several steps to tackle their litter – water trash problem that Philadelphia’s Mayor Nutter and City Council should consider.

Baltimore’s efforts include:
- Regular city-wide street cleaning
- Water wheel in the Inner Harbor
- Trash boom on the Back River.
The Back River Restoration Committee maintains the floating boom to trap trash from Herring Run before it enters the Chesapeake Bay. Here are before- after photos of the boom.
